Shibashi Qigong Taichi was developed by Professor Lin Hou-Sheng in 1979.

Professor Lin is a renowned Qigong master, scientist and Master Healer. It is based on the philosophy of Tai Chi and extracts some of the best movements from the Yang style Tai Chi Chuan Form. It places emphasis on synchronising the 18 movements with proper breathing techniques. It is a gentle, beautiful and flowing Qigong exercise routine that is a joy to do and can be deeply relaxing.

Qigong Shibashi is designed to improve the flow and balance of qi (chi) energy within the body, leading to an improvement in the general health and well being of the practitioner. The gentle rocking motions and stretching improve circulation and digestion. The chest exercises and controlled breathing are good for lung conditions and asthma. The overall effect of the set is to reduce mental stress and physical tension within the body each session includes mindfulness and Zen meditation and may...

  • Improve health and increase energy, agility, flexibility and function

  • Expand and strengthen lung capacity/abdominal breathing

  • Loosen and strengthen joints and muscles

  • Rejuvenate the body with Chi energy/ balance and flow

BA DUAN JIN (8 BROCADES OF SILK)

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act,

but a habit.”

8-Brocades-1-8pic-copy_f_improf_547x188.jpg

The Eight Brocades are a set of qigong exercises that originated in China and have been practiced throughout the world for thousands of years.

Each movement focuses on a different meridian to improve the flow of qi throughout the body. If practiced routinely, this practice will improve your health significantly.

By completing these qigong movements, you should notice improved health, increased energy, reduced stress, a revitalized mind and body, improved balance, and an overall sense of well-being.

1.     Palms raised to Heaven
2.     Drawing the bow
3.     Separating Heaven and Earth
4.     The Wise Owl Gazes Backward
5.     Shake the Head & Swing Tail
6.     Punching with Angry Eyes
7.     Press the Earth, Touch the Sky
8.     Lifting Up the Heels

Breathing instruction – Make sure you inhale through your nose while pushing out your abdomen. Exhale through your mouth while pulling your abdomen inward. This allows for the maximum amount of air to flow freely into your lungs. Do this 6 times before beginning the movements. Roll your head and neck clockwise and then counterclockwise 8 times to loosen up. Remember to stand straight and not tense up your muscles. Relax and enjoy the experience.

TESTIMONIALS

Testimonials

Michael always makes sessions enjoyable. The information he imparts on how to improve our mind & body as a whole and find inner strength and peace as a result is wonderful.

I wanted to do something that I could do inside that would help me cope with the covid lockdown and also keep me fit. I really look forward to the weekly sessions.

Sessions contribute to my overall physical health & am more aware of what we need to stay healthy. The sessions have helped my mental health as I feel so relaxed and at peace after group session.
